FAQ

Where is your office located?

My office is located inside St. Paul Orthodox Church at 1717 Katy Gap Road, Katy, TX 77494

What are your office hours?

All sessions are by appointment. I try to make accommodations with different schedules as best I can.

How long are your sessions?

The first session is 75-90 minutes for intake and orientation. After that, sessions are 45-55 minutes.

Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance. I see this as an extension of ministry at our church, which is also why I keep my rates affordable. The first session is $130 for intake and then $65 per session after that.

How do I setup an initial appointment?

You can call, text, or email me to set up your first appointment. Or you can fill out the “make an appointment” form below. I make all my bookings, but I am almost always able to respond to you within 24 hours.

What is your cancellation policy?

I require a 24-hour notice of cancellation (except for emergencies). I will charge you for the full session if you fail to give a minimum of 24 hours’ notice.

What age ranges do you work with?

I work with adults of all ages. Occasionally, I will work with teens and pre-teens. My approach naturally works best with those who can process abstract concepts.

Do you clients receive homework to work on between sessions?

Sometimes. Homework varies depending on what benefits the individual or couple. Some clients rarely receive formal assignments but are always encouraged to reflect on and use the things discussed in sessions.

I am more likely to provide “recommendations” than “assignments” because this is more conducive to the dynamic I want to encourage in therapy.

What is your professional training and expertise?

I completed a post-graduate program in Theology from the University of Balamand and another three-year Master’s in Pastoral Counseling. I also completed four units of Clinical Pastoral Education, the gold standard for hospice and chaplaincy. I have been counseling professionally since 2017 and in the Katy area since 2021.

What else does a client need to know to make the most out of working with you?

I love this question. My clients need to know that while they will experience kindness, warmth, patience, wisdom, and guidance, I will challenge them to take full responsibility for the shape of their lives, both internally and externally. Clients who benefit from counseling are ones who use a skilled therapist to help themselves.

Where did you grow up?

I spent the first 20 years in Atlanta, GA. After that, I moved to the Nashville area after falling in love and eventually marrying her. We stayed in the Nashville area until 2021 when we moved here to accept the role of pastoring St. Paul Orthodox Church.

How did you get into filmmaking?

After I creatively assisting with the documentary "Becoming Truly Human" (2016), I was fascinated with making documentaries. I have made a dozen short films and several feature length documentaries. Pastoring has slowed down the work, but you can see my last feature length, award-winning documentary on YouTube for free, "In The Name of Choice," which received accolades from both sides of the abortion conversation in America.

Why did you decide to get into counseling?

It all started in 2010 when my wife almost died from an intense auto-immune disorder. After seeing incredible results from Chinese Medicine, I apprenticed and opened a Chinese Medicine practice in Nashville. After a couple of years, I realized that the majority of my patients were experiencing suppressed stress in their bodies manifesting as illness and disease. This planted an immediate interest in learning counseling so I could help people get to the root of the problem. After testing several program, I settled with the Masters of Pastoral Counseling at the University of Balamand (distance learning program with intensives). Looking back on 2010, I'm thankful to be in counseling and feel blessed to help people and witness the results of their growth.
